The Prime Minister responded to the discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address in Rajya Sabha which had seen participation from more than 50 MPs. The Prime Minister assured the House of the government's commitment to farmers’ welfare and recounted measures such as Kisan Credit Cards, Soil Health Cards, and PM KISAN. He reiterated that the government was open to talking to the farmers on the three farm laws. Following the PM's response, the Motion of Thanks was adopted through a voice vote.
The National Capital Territory of Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Second (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was introduced and The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was passed.
The J&K Amendment Bill merges the J&K cadre of All India Services with the AGMUT cadre. Members who welcomed the Bill said that it would contribute towards making a larger pool of officers available to the UTs which would help speed up the pace of developmental programs there. A Member, who opposed the Bill, stated that it would set back the process for restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Lok Sabha began with the Question Hour but was adjourned soon after. When the House returned to meet later, the Motion of Thanks to the President's Address was taken up.
