The Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2021 was discussed and passed in Lok Sabha. The bill seeks to amend the 1957 Act to allow captive mines (other than atomic minerals) to sell up to 50% of their annual mineral production in the open market after meeting their own needs.
It also empowers the Centre to specify a time period for completion of the auction process in consultation with the states. If the state does not complete auctions within this period, the auctions may be conducted by the central government.

The Standing Committee on Health submitted its report on the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Bill, 2020 in Parliament. The bill was referred to the Committee after its introduction in the Monsoon Session. The bill regulates ART banks and clinics in India.
