The Telangana Public Employment (Regulation of Age of Superannuation) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020

• The Telangana Public Employment (Regulation of Age of Superannuation) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020 was promulgated on July 31, 2020.  It amends the Telangana Public Employment (Regulation of Age of Superannuation) Act, 1984.  The Act regulates the retirement age of the state government employees, among others.
   
• Retirement age of teaching faculty in government Ayush medical colleges: The Act provides that every government employee other than workmen and last grade service employees will retire from service when they turn 58 years old.  The Ordinance increases the retirement age for the teaching faculty in government Ayush medical colleges from 58 years to 65 years.  The teaching faculty consists of principal, professor (undergraduate and postgraduate), associate professor, and assistant professor/lecturer.
