The Haryana Juvenile Smoking Repeal Bill, 2023, was introduced in the Haryana Legislative Assembly on August 28, 2023. It seeks to repeal the Haryana Juvenile Smoking Act, 1918. The Act penalises selling tobacco to children below 16 years of age. It authorises seizure of tobacco from boys under the age of 16 years if they are found smoking in any public place. The Statement of Objects and Reasons of the Bill states that all provisions of the 1918 Act are covered under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003.
